Pikes Peak Stock Class
NASCAR 1958-1997
Leonard Vahsholtz won the Pikes Peak Hill climb class three
times. In 1986 he finished with a time of 12:15.490, his best
finish in a T-bird.  
The Thunderbird enjoyed success in many different racing formats
when the new design in 1983 was released.  Ford sent schematics to
many different teams to take advantage of the new body and factory
backed many race teams in SCCA and IMSA racing groups.  Bob
Glidden set many records in his Pro Stock Thunderbird, qualifying 1st
at all 14 races, winning 42 rounds of competition.
